This page highlights some of the projects I completed during my VET studies, along with the practical knowledge and technical skills I developed throughout the course.

Install and Manage Complex ICT Networks
Designed and configured complex network environments using Cisco Packet Tracer, working with routers, switches, VLANs, IP addressing, subnetting, routing, and network connectivity. The projects involved building network topologies, configuring devices, testing communication between networks, identifying connectivity issues, and troubleshooting configuration problems.
Manage Network Security
Explored methods used to secure network infrastructure, including access control, firewall concepts, secure network configuration, threat identification, and strategies to reduce vulnerabilities within an organisation.
Promote Workplace Cyber Security Awareness and Best Practices
Focused on identifying common cyber threats such as phishing, malware, weak passwords, and social engineering. Developed approaches to improve staff awareness and encourage safer security practices in the workplace.
Apply IP, Ethics and Privacy in ICT Environments
Examined how intellectual property, privacy laws, data handling, copyright, and ethical responsibilities apply within IT environments, with a focus on responsible use of information and organisational compliance.
Telecommunication Network and Architecture Design
Developed a complete multi-site network architecture from the planning stage through to the final technical design. Used QGIS to map sites, calculate distances, analyse routes, and determine suitable network paths, while UniFi tools supported infrastructure and wireless network planning. The project required evaluating network topology, equipment, connectivity, coverage, capacity, redundancy, scalability, and implementation requirements to create a practical network solution.
Server and Virtualisation
Built and managed a virtualised server environment using Hyper-V and Windows Server 2022. The work included creating and configuring virtual machines, Active Directory Domain Services, DNS and DHCP, domain management, user and organisational unit administration, and Windows client integration. I also configured IIS web servers, hosted websites and FTP services, implemented Network Load Balancing for high availability, and tested connectivity, Remote Desktop, failover, checkpoints, and server performance.
IT Project Management
Planned and managed an IT project from initial requirements through to implementation and project closure. The work covered defining project scope and deliverables, setting milestones and timelines, allocating resources, identifying and managing risks, coordinating stakeholders, handling project changes, and maintaining technical and project documentation. The module also focused on monitoring progress, resolving issues, and ensuring the final solution met the agreed technical and business requirements.
Match ICT Needs with the Strategic Direction of the Organisation
Analysed organisational goals, existing ICT capabilities, and business requirements to identify gaps and recommend suitable technology solutions. The work involved evaluating infrastructure, systems, security, costs, risks, scalability, and future business needs, then aligning proposed ICT improvements with the organisation’s strategic direction. It also included preparing recommendations, implementation priorities, and technical documentation to support business decision-making.
